High energy sing along punk anthems of social/political awareness and youthful angst- ridden rebellion can best describe what Southern California's Backside has been pumping into the world of punk rock for the past six years. Formed in 1994 and based in Riverside California, Backside has played with international touring bands such as Voodoo Glow Skulls, Guttermouth, The Vandals, Good Riddance, Blink 182, The Ataris, Youth Brigade, Strung Out and many more along with having a strong reputation for headlining and selling out various punk venues up and down their home state of California. Defiant by nature and direct to the point is unmistakably the motto for this five-piece Inland Empire punk outfit. Backside has worked hard and played even harder to earn themselves the reputation for putting on an extremely energetic live show that truly brings to life the genuine ideas, thoughts and messages contained within each song written, recorded and performed. From punk fans to a punk band was obviously the most natural transition made by these clever kids with their hearts and minds all focused upon one common goal: to make music for change. With musical influences ranging from early punk pioneers such as Minor Threat and Bad Religion to current punk icons Rancid and NOFX it's obvious what has fueled the fire of Backside to continue what they are doing while remaining true to themselves and all in their surroundings. The DIY punk ethic holds very strong in the band and is well recognized by other bands, promoters and surrounding media.
