Spokane-based Metalcore / Nu-Metal band. The band originally formed as "Descent" on December 20th, 2001 and released a demo EP in 2002. Their name was later changed to "As Ashes Fall" on November 3rd, 2002 and then released an album in early 2003 titled Album One: The Implement to very limited quantities. The band then released a single titled Ends of Tragedy shortly after the album was released, and split up the same year shortly after. Drummer Justin Salinas went on to play for pretty well-known metalcore bands such as The Word Alive and Scars of Tomorrow before retiring around 2011/2012. Vocalist Gus Ballman and Bassist Anton Blessing started a new band shortly after AAF's disbandment called The Endustry which broke up after a dispute between Ballman and Blessing. Gus then became a tattoo artist and recently started a new hardcore band called Manifesto.
