American guitarist, singer, record producer and experimental composer. Born 28 May 1953 in Richmond, Virginia. He has collaborated with both visual and musical artists, including Vito Acconci, Laurie Anderson, Animal Collective, Matthew Barney, Caetano Veloso and Rirkrit Tiravanija. He having been involved with carnaval in Brazil for many years, by 2004 he began making parades.
