Artist and producer from California. “Following the disbanding of the surf group The New Dimension, Art Guy, the drummer, was at a crossroads with his future endeavors and music career. [...] Encouraged by Hite and Dorinda Morgan (the Beach Boys producers) along with their son Bruce, Art began to learn the science of recording studio. [...] With Art on drums, Danny Belskey on flute, and hired musicians from the TV show Shindig, they began turning Art’s instrumental “Where You Gonna Go” into a fully formed song. The flip side “Teenage Millionaire” penned by Dorinda Morgan was also recorded at Bruce Morgan’s famous Hollywood studio “Stereo Masters”. In 1967 this was released as a promotional only 45 on the Valiant label, however this was the last offering for the label and due to lack of promotion, the song was left to languish. At a standstill, Art thought his skills were best suited to being in a band and joined Smokestack Lightnin’.” (from Glyn Bowen’s notes for the Hyperloop reissue.)
