"In late '60s Munich a self-contained unit called Antiteater provided music, dance and cast for plays and films under the direction of Rainer Werner Fassbinder. In 1969, Eckart Rahn saw (and heard) merit in the music of Fassbinder's ensemble and procured publishing rights to the group in the hope that they would one day record an album. Documented on buried master tapes and celluloid the music of the Antiteater group captured the true diverse and radical spirit of underground Germany embodying many of the stylistic properties of their phonographic counterparts without the restrictions of record company pressure" (Andy Votel in his 2009-12 liner notes for [m382577]). They were active in the 1967-1970 period ; the "Greatest Hits" album is posthumous.
