Anssi Kela

Finnish musician, singer-songwriter and producer, born on July 29, 1972. Kela started his career in 1986 as a bassist in a band later known as Pekka Ja Susi, becoming also its singer in 1991. After the group disbanded in 1999, Kela pursued a solo career, and released his debut solo album Nummela in 2001. It became the best-selling album of the decade in Finland. After the decline of his popularity in mid 2000s, Kela made a strong comeback with his fifth, self-titled album in 2013.


Kela is a multi-instrumentalist and plays guitar, bass, keyboards and drums. He also produces his records.

He is the brother of Ville Kela, and the son of Juha Kela.
