Annabelle Fox is a pseudonym for the second lead singer of The Chantels, Annette Swinson Smith, who replaced Arlene Smith for their comeback hit “Look Into My Eyes” in 1961. She had been in her own group, The Veneers, since 1959. By the end of 1964 she parted ways with The Chantels and found herself under the wing of Teddy Randazzo. Along with Linda Carr and Timi Yuro, she’d record the first version of songs that sadly never became hits and became album tracks for Teddy’s flagship pet project, The Royalettes.
