Danish-French film actress, director, screenwriter, and singer born September 22, 1940 in Solbjerg, Denmark and died December 14, 2019 in Paris, France. Known as an icon of the French Nouvelle Vague.
She moved to Paris in 1957 to pursue a modeling career. Gabrielle [a=Coco Chanel (2)] gave her her name and she embarked on an acting career, collaborating with Jean-Luc Godard on seven films between 1961 and 1967. She was married to Jean-Luc Godard from 1961 to 1967, to [a=Daniel Duval] from 1978 to 1981 and to [a=Dennis Berry (2)] from 1982 until her death in 2019.
