Daughter of the singer & composer Itamar Assumpção, Anelis represents the free-spirit of São Paulo’s avant-garde and lots of her iconic father’s originality.
Anelis was born in Penha (district of São Paulo). She started her career at the age of 18, singing backing vocals in her father's band. She was part of the DonaZica group, alongside Iara Rennó and Andreia Dias. In 2007, she started performing as a soloist.
The licensing of copyrights on her father's works for the edition of the [r=3925641] collection earned the singer the necessary resources to record her first album, in 2011.
