One of the original members of Midnight Oil, bass guitarist Andrew "Bear" James joined [B][I]Farm[/B][/I] in 1972 with Jim Moginie (guitar/keyboards) and Rob Hirst (drums) to tour Australian coastal towns during University holidays. With the arrival of Peter Garrett (vocals) and Martin Rotsey (guitar) [B][I]Midnight Oil[/B][/I] was born. Andrew James played on their first album [B] Midnight Oil [/B] and its follow-up [B]Head Injuries[/B] before the band's rigorous touring and production schedule took its toll and he left the band in April 1980. He was replaced by [a502076].
