Alps (commonly billed as Alps of New South Wales between 2006-2007 around the release of the album of that name) is the solo project of Chris Hearn, from Tamworth, New South Wales, Australia, now living in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. Alps plays a mixture of pop and experimental music, using electronic, electric and acoustic instruments, drawing inspiration from Australia and New Zealand’s rich history of pop, rock and experimental music from The Go-Betweens to the Dead C, the Severed Heads to the Tall Dwarfs, and everything in-between.
