It was in 1986 that the group was created in Lauzoa in the Grand Lahou region in the south of Ivory Coast. The musical style of this group is Youssoumba, a style resulting from popular songs and other village activities of lagoon peoples. Originally, it is practiced with a drum, a bottle and harmonized voices which sing together the scores of the vocal lead. But both in its traditional and modernized versions, Youssoumba is a very lively and dancing genre. Its typical lagoon sound connotation and its atmospheric rhythms have made it a very dancing and popular genre in Ivory Coast. The group is managed today by Boby Six, the most gifted artist manager of his generation in Ivory Coast.
