Originally from Winnipeg, Canada where they were known as The Crescendos. Members included Glenn MacRae (lead vocals, harmonica, saxophone), Terry Loeb (lead guitar, vocals), Dennis Penner (bass guitar, vocals) and Vance Schmidt, later known as Vance Masters (drums, vocals). Moved to Liverpool in August 1965 and after five months a disillusioned Dennis Penner returned to Canada. He was replaced by Stuart McKiernan, a bassist from Liverpool. In February 1966 they began regularly playing at the Cavern Club. A few months later they were spotted by [a344342] of [a277352] who renamed them and organized the recording session in London which resulted in their single. MacRae, Loeb and Masters returned to Winnipeg in October 1966.where they reconnected with Dennis Penner, with him again becoming a member of The Crescendos. The group remained together until 1967 before they split when Glenn MacRae and Vance Masters left the group to get married.
