3 Sud Est is comprised of three Romanian singers: Viorel Șipoș, Laurențiu Duță and Mihai Budeanu. They first started collaborating in 1993, when Laurențiu Duță performed at the Mamaia Festival as a solo singer and the other two provided choreography and back-up dancing.
3rei Sud Est's 1997 debut Ai plecat, which defined their early trademark sound, became an instant success. This brand of electronic dance music came to influence a series of other young artists from the Romanian scene such as André, Animal X and Cristiana Răduță. Their most successful is Amintirile (The Memories). Mihai Budeanu also released a solo album outside of the 3SE project.
After 11 years of musical activity that took out one hit after another, 3 SUD EST made their split public in December 2008.
One of the most enduring bands in Romania has raised 11 years in 13 albums and maybe that would have taken her so long and hard and if Viorel Laurentiu Mihai should be accepted as a band to divide between personal project.
