    16 Bitch Pile-Up formed in Columbus, Ohio as a five-woman group, comprised of Tina Matthews, Shannon Walter (keyboards), Brooke Zamudio (turntables), and Sarah Bernat (vocals, feedback) and Sarah Cathers. At some point Brooke and Tina left the group and the trio of Shannon Walter, Sarah Bernat and Sarah Cathers moved to San Francisco in California.
